Living Happily With Your Puppy
Now that you are aware of the basic tips and tricks for puppy training, you can commence the training of your puppy with immediate effect. While you are training your puppy, you have to keep yourself reminded of two golden rules of puppy training-consistency and continuity.
Most of the accidents and failures during the training program are because of the owner’s failure to follow these rules and making basic training mistakes. Whenever you are going to hit a training roadblock (which I am sure you will), evaluate your approach and find out where you faltered in your approach style.
Puppies are situational learners and may forget what they have learned when they are in a different environment. It is therefore necessary to have continuity in your training approach. You should make training a lifetime process of fun and learning that is part of your puppy’s day-to-day living rather than adopting a regimental and compartmentalized training approach for a fixed duration.
Ninety-nine times out of hundred you will find your approach was at fault and not the puppy. Avoid using harsh training reprimands and training equipment that is painful for your puppy. Make training a fun and welcome event for which she must wait eagerly rather than making it a painful and sad memory for your puppy.
Puppy training serves a dual purpose. While it makes puppy ownership a convenient and no fuss experience for you, it establishes a life long bond of love, care, respect and companionship between you and your puppy.
Effective use of a puppy or dog training program will help you in keeping your puppy in good health and free from bad manners that could land you into a financial or legal mess. A well-trained puppy or dog is a happy dog that is a source of fun and amusement for you, your family and even for your neighbors and visitors.
